Will I get accepted into an MBA program with a low gmat score, but high GPA?

Question by Lyrra: Will I get accepted into an MBA program with a low gmat score, but high GPA?
I have always done well in school/college. My college GPA was a 3.55, but I did poorly on my GMAT (got a 360) the first try and a 400 the second try. All of my references and work experience are in my favor… will business schools focus only on my gmat score, or will they weigh all these factors?

There are so many MBA schools, that you can find one that will take any GPA or GMAT scores, no matter how low. However, most of these schools are worthless.

Make sure any MBA school you attend is AACSB-accredited. Your 400 GMAT score will probably keep you out of the really good schools.

That depends on the business school, to be honest. Some are flexible re: GMAT scores. Others really are not. So you’ll need to ask each MBA program directly.

But that GMAT score would keep you out of several programs, yes.

Make sure that any MBA you look at is AACSB accredited. A lot of employers won’t hire you if your program isn’t AACSB.
