Question by Lemony: Which University of London masters in film is the best?
I would like to do one of the University of London’s MA courses in film next year but am having trouble deciding which college/course to apply for. (Please note: I’m not asking whether I should do a film MA at all. I’m planning an academic career.)
I am looking at the following:
Goldsmiths – MA Screen and Film Studies
KCL – MA Contemporary Cinema Cultures
QM – MA Film Studies
UCL – MA Film Studies
What I can’t seem to find out is… how long have these courses been established? Which are new and which are already well-respected? Or not respected? Is there any way I can find out which are the best for research and teaching?
Like I said in the original question, I’m not asking *whether* I should do an MA in film, I’m asking which one. I’m planning an academic career in film studies – I want to go on from the MA to do a PhD. So I do need to do an MA.

If you want to work in TV or film don’t do any of these courses just start writing and filming things
