i have bachelors in communication and going to graduate school but im conflicting between applying for mba/law school, or general graduate school for phd in my major. how long do they take usually? to obtain phd in my major, it will take up to 6-9 years. I dont think it’s worth the years. please advise.

Depends on your personal goals and the school that you will go to: For myself I would choose mba/law school given that it is a top school -one of the top 20 in the filed.
That totally depends on what you want to do in life, what career you want to have. We can’t answer that question for you unless you tell us what your ideal job is!
It all depends on what you want to for work.
Do you want to do research and/or be a professor? Get a PH. D.
Do you want to get a practical job? Go to a professional school.
I do know, however, people who have PH. Ds and are working in practical jobs, are very happy and are making good money.
The PH. D. can take up to 4 years, after grad school. Even if it takes a little more time, I think it’s very worth it. It means more respect, prestige, money and status. Go for it!
