Lots of sources list MBA school rankings, and each one has a different criteria for determining how to rank each school. Additionally, each source also has different sub-categories that list each discipline (Marketing, Finance, Entrepreneurship, etc) and the best schools for each discipline. Generally, there are about 5-10 schools for each discipline.
Anyway, the major sources for these rankings include:
1. US News and World Report (generally considered to be the primary source)
2. Business Week
3. The Wall Street Journal (generally focuses on finance and International Business)
4. The Times of London (primarily focuses on international schools and programs with large international business tracks – Oxford, Harvard, INSEAD, etc)
All of these sources should be able to give you a good overview of the program itself, including costs, average GMAT scores and undergrad GPA, average starting salary, and other primary data. After this, I would contact the schools themselves to get their information packets, which also include an application. It has been my experience that the information packets do a pretty good job of letting you know what the schools are looking for, and what they have to offer.
Good Luck with your search.
