Question by Toni C: what majors should a good B.S. in business administration have?
I’m thinking about getting my B.S. in business, i often see schools have a number of different majors in their business administration program but i often get confused on what is needed,,, like one school may have simply accounting, management, and commerce, where as others have those AND economics, finance, marketing, information technology, international business, etc… so what does a good business administration have? while you are at it, could you tell me if i can major in more than one of those? or do i have to choose from just one? Thank you,

It doesn’t matter how many concentrations the school has, as long as they have the topics you’re interested in (you’ll see all sorts of combinations once you start looking at schools in different cities and states). For any of those majors, you’ll take the same core set of business curriculum, with additional courses in your concentration, so it is possible to complete more than one concentration at most schools (though it’s probably not recommended to complete more than two).
Any school with a good reputation is fine. Don’t get a business degree at an online school – businesses don’t respect those very well. If you want a good indicator of the quality of the business program, you could ask what percentage of students go on to get graduate degrees (MBA, etc.), and what percentage of available graduates are employed in business. For undergrad, it’s really more important that the school is a good fit for your needs – do they have internship programs that seem interesting to you? Opportunities to study abroad? Student Organizations that you’d like to be a member of? Once you visit several schools, you’ll start to get a good idea of what criteria are important to you.
