What is the average salary for a person that has an MBA?

I’m finishing up my MBA and I wanted to know what I should expect during the salary part of the job interview. I live in Orlando,FL so I don’t know if location has anything to do with the salary amount but I sure would like to know. If you have a clue (if you have an MBA), please let me know. Thank you.

You are asking how much you can make when you graduate, fine. You also said the general area where you live, fine. Now, what the hell are you studying for? A teacher with an MBA don’t make as much money as a engineer, a little more info can be very helpful.

Also, salary depends on company size, number of people supervised by you, if any, risk, market and so on. You can have an MBA and work at a shoe store for a boss with only a H. S. diploma.

50,000 a year, but as little as 20,000 or as much as triple digits. work hard in school and get a good GPA so you can get a good career.

MBA starting salaries are closely tied to the specific MBA program and what your industry of choice is. Grads of very top programs like Harvard and Stanford make well over $100K on average the first year out while grads of schools ranked 30 and under make a bit more than $55K on average. Go much under 30 and the degree doesn’t appear to effect salary much beyond what you could have made with an undergrad degree.

Take a look at salary data reported in the Official MBA Guide. Select Florida, then look what is reported by schools such as Rollins College, University of Central Florida, Florida Southern College, University of South Florida, and University of Tampa. You will see a great variety. What may be available to you will depend on the school granting your MBA, your grades, work experience, and many other factors. With today’s bad economy there may be fewer recruiters and lower offers.
