what are the basics of business administration needed for starting a marketing office?

I am hoping to start a marketing office in singapore. This would mean being paid on a retainer basis to represent several companies here. My income would be derived solely from the foreign companies. My main skill is in sales and communication. My question is what aspects of business administration would I need to learn ? I was wondering if you know any good links on this or if you advise please let me know. Thanks Jon
