I came to America when I was 11 years old with my parents and my two brothers. Due to a family tragedy my bothers and I have been living on our own since I was 18 years old. I worked two jobs throughout college, and participated in the USMC Officer Candidate Program in the summer of my Junior and Senior years – I fractured my hip in my 8th week of training and received an honorary invitation from the Colonel of Officer Candidate School to return. My injury completely undid me, and I was unable to complete training at a later point. I took a break for about 2 years for traveling, because I was unsure of where to take my career and education. In January 2008, I started a job as a marketing analyst with an online firm. It appealed to me because of its strong presence in online advertising; I quickly made my way to the top with superior leadership, reasoning, and quantitative skill – I am now the Operations Manager of a team of head analysts in India, Costa Rica. . . .

Realistically, I think it will be tough but go for it-
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. . .
I think you should go for it! You’ll never get in if you don’t try!
Your GPA is average for those schools and your GMAT below average. If you went to a top college (ivy league and the like) it will help.
For you, they would need to judge your work experience as stellar for you to get in. 1 year of experience is not going to do it. The average at those schools is 3-5 years.
Since it sounds like you can do well out there, I suggest you work for at least 2 more years in the company your with if you think it’s good or another company. They want to see that you are managing increasing numbers of people and increasing budgets over time. I’d also study and retake the GMAT for a minimum 700. Good luck!
Your chances are probably pretty good, but those schools get a huge number of applicants and have to reject highly qualified students. There are, however, dozens of other excellent MBA programs. Look for them in the Official MBA Guide, a free service. You can specify your criteria and preferences and get a ranked list of schools that satisfy your needs. You can use the Guide to send a pre-application to schools of your choice and see how they react.
