I am a 23 year old female planning to apply to MBA programs for Fall 2011 entry. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis (top 12 university in the US) last year with a Bachelors degree in Biology and a minor in Business Administration. My overall GPA is about a 3.4. I recently took a diagnostic GMAT and got a 680. I have a project management position in the Federal Government (in science/healthcare). Since I plan to apply for Fall 2011, I will have had 3 years of work experience before entry.
I’m particulary interested in MBA programs that have a concentration in Healthcare/Biotechnology management.
If I score over 700 on the GMATs, what will my chances be of getting into a top MBA program?
I know I’m probably not competitive enough (given my mediocre GPA and less than 5 years of work experience) to gain admission into the best of the best schools (Harvard, Columbia, Wharton, etc) but what are my chances for Duke (dream school), Carnegie Mellon, or Vanderbilt?
Are there other schools suited for my credentials and career interests?
Any help will be much appreciated!
