Question by Manchest: What are my chances of getting into a top B-school?
Hi,
Its a big decision for me. Your reply will be truly truly appreciated. I have a 6-month daughter. Am already an Engineer + MBA from two of the finest schools in India. I have about 5.5 years of work experience.
Am planning on a second MBA… Of course from the likes of LBS, Insead, Harvard, Stanford, Yale, NYU Stern.
I have taken the GMAT and have scored 730.
On the other hand, my educational qualifications and work experience are not really exceptional.
I have done my Engg not from an IIT but from the best college in Karnataka. My Engineering percentage if 73%.
I have done my MBA not from an IIM but from one of the top 10 schools. My MBA CGPA is not very great….. its 2.97/ 4.0
My work experience is with companies having a good name.
What are my chances?????

I doubt they will look at your application seriously since you already have an MBA. If they allow you to pursue a second MBA (which I doubt), your biggest concern is the GPA. These b-schools get so many applications that they use GMAT and GPA for initial screening. Generally, a 700+ GMAT, which you pass, and a 3.5+ GPA, which you fall well short of. I just don’t see it happening… Since you already have an MBA.
