Southeast Service Cooperative Selects InfoSource Learning to Administer Professional Development Network

Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) April 3, 2007

InfoSource, Inc. (InfoSource), a leading provider of technology training solutions for K-12 educators, today announced the partnership of its How To Master Learning Management System (LMS) with the Southeast Service Cooperative (SSC) in Minnesota.

InfoSource’s solution enables SSC to provide up to 2,500 teachers in its member districts with valuable access to features that support digital literacy and integration development at all levels of teacher preparation. Through individualized assessments and prescriptive training in the How To Master LMS, teachers will have the necessary resources to help bridge the digital divide in today’s 21st century classrooms.

“Southeast Service Cooperative selected InfoSource as a partner to provide the technology training our teachers need to effectively integrate technology in the classroom. We are partially funding the training with an Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2) grant for a two year Professional Development Project,” said Suzanne Riley, Executive Director of the Southeast Service Cooperative.

Eighteen member school districts are participating in the project, through which they will manage professional development in technology literacy and integration more effectively. The project includes data analysis of school districts, individuals and groups, an expert trainer network, and collaboration tools to share best practices in planning, managing, and delivering teacher professional development.

By combining both the How To Master LMS and Content Authoring Tool (CAT), SSC educators will have an array of technology resources available to them anytime and anywhere internet access is available. “This tool will not only allow our educators access to professional development opportunities, but through the CAT tool, we have the ability to create custom content specific to the needs of our educators,” said SSC Program Coordinator Amy Grover. “Increasing the use of technology in today’s classroom is vital and our partnership with InfoSource is essential to ensuring that our educators are preparing students for the future,” said Grover.

Through ongoing guided needs assessments with InfoSource, SSC will deliver focused training using the How To Master LMS in both online and face-to-face formats to up to 2,500 teachers. “The potential to reach this many educators and enhance the learning experience for the students is amazing. We look forward to our partnership with Southeast Service Cooperative to strengthen the technology literacy of educators in the participating schools,” said Tom Dalton, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at InfoSource Learning.
