Should I get a Six Sigma or CPA to go with an MBA?

Question by Science nerd: Should I get a Six Sigma or CPA to go with an MBA?
I received Bachelor Degree degree in Information System Management from University of Maryland(1989), and an accounting certificate also from University of Maryland in 2000, and in 2006 received an MBA from University of Phoenix. I would like to become a CPA to round off my MBA from University of Phoenix ( bad choice I made) in order to work in a big firm. What is the best way of becoming a CPA because eventually my goal is to be a director of finance at a big firm, the only thing is I have no experience with big firm. I am also 49 years years old and was wondering if anyone would give me a chance to prove myself. I consider myself smart, speak German and work right now in Purchasing where I am terribly underpaid ( low 40′s). I need recommendations on the best path to follow to offset this MBA and I wondering if getting a CPA is a good choice or should I get a Black Belt certification in Six Sigma to strengthen my MBA?

a CPA will reward you financially while a black belt certification will offer you physical safety

Since you studied accounting you may as well take the CPS exam. Check with your state for the necessary requirements. Most states require a degree in accounting or the appropriate course work, plus 30 hours of graduate work. I can’t answer your 6-sigma question. Too bad you chose Phoenix for the MBA. You know now what that means.

With a CPA and your age, you may be better off opening a small practice, possibly doing tax work or serving small businesses. But if you can get a big firm to hire you, the experience is invaluable.
