Razorfish Names Bob Lord New CEO

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 22, 2009

Razorfish, one of the world’s largest digital agencies, today announced that Bob Lord has been appointed its global chief executive officer. Clark Kokich, Razorfish CEO since 2007, will become Razorfish chairman, a newly created position. The changes, announced at the 9th Annual Razorfish Client Summit, are effective immediately.

Lord, based in New York, joined Razorfish in 2000 and has been the president of the East U.S. region since 2004 in addition to holding a number of executive positions in the agency. He is also responsible for the Razorfish business in Latin America, where the agency has a client relationship with Terra Latin America, the largest internet portal in the region. He will remain based in New York.

As CEO, Lord will be responsible for the agency’s operations and overall success, with all Razorfish regional presidents reporting to him. Kokich will oversee Razorfish’s strategic direction, work directly with core accounts, represent Razorfish in the marketplace and develop thought leadership. In March, he was named a member of the new digital board of the American Association of Advertising Agencies.

Addressing clients and employees attending the Client Summit, Kokich said, “Bob is a great choice to be CEO of Razorfish. He’s a proven leader who has been at the forefront of teaching clients how to build their businesses through the creation of ground-breaking digital experiences. Bob will ensure that our more than 2,000 people around the world have the tools they need to build the agency of the future. And as chairman, I am now freed up to focus on the work I love most – helping client teams deliver innovative business ideas, as well as identifying the strategic initiatives that will continue to differentiate Razorfish in the marketplace.”

Under its new corporate structure, Razorfish will build upon recent successes and milestones. In recent months, Razorfish has acquired Spain-based agency Wysiwyg and has been named digital agency partner for leading brands such as Mattel, Mercedes-Benz USA, Purina ALPO®, Starwood and TravelChannel.com. Razorfish has also recently published ground-breaking thought leadership such as Digital Mom, Digital Outlook Report and FEED: The Razorfish Consumer Experience Report (which included new insights into consumer purchase behavior).

Lord said he is thrilled to follow in Kokich’s footsteps. “It’s humbling to be named Razorfish CEO from a deep pool of talent inside our agency,” Lord said. “I look forward to supporting Clark and our global network as we apply digital expertise to help our clients build their businesses.”

In his role as president of the East, Lord was named a member of the board of directors for the Advertising Research Foundation in 2008. Prior to joining Razorfish, Lord served as chief operating officer and executive vice president of Prism Rehab Systems and before that was a partner consultant with Symmetrix. He holds a master of business administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor of science in engineering from Syracuse University.
