Rasmussen College Optimistic After U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Releases Latest Employment Situation Report
Minneapolis (PRWEB) November 7, 2010
Career opportunities in the technology and health care fields continue to increase, according to the latest Employment Situation Report, released November 5 by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Further encouraging news was reported as private sector payroll employment increased by 151,000 jobs, above the average indicated, despite an unchanged unemployment rate of 9.6 percent in October, compared to the previous month.
âAs long as advancements in technology continue to drive the need for knowledgeable professionals, there will be outstanding growth in this field. Likewise, the health care industry is in desperate need of experienced professionals, which constantly seem to be in high demand,â National Director of Career Development for Rasmussen College Tamryn Hennessy said. âThere is tremendous opportunity for job seekers who have been schooled in these fields or are willing to acquire the education and skills necessary to compete for jobs within these industries.â
The report showed employment in computer systems design and related services increased by 8,000 positions in October, with 53,000 new positions created since June 2009. Additionally, health care, which continues to be among the fastest growing industries, added more than 24,000 jobs last month. Job seekers with degrees in nursing, health care, or computer-related areas are positioned to enter these high-demand fields.
