Q&A: If I get a BA degree in chemistry from Rutgers, can i go into a graduate program that gives me an MS degree?

Question by A: If I get a BA degree in chemistry from Rutgers, can i go into a graduate program that gives me an MS degree?
I hear that Rutgers has a great Science program so the BA isn’t bad when it’s from Rutgers. But I am planning on getting an MS. Is it possible to go from BA to MS?

Also, when I graduate from grad school, do they help me get a job?

A B.A. in chemistry will meet the degree qualification for almost all M.S. programs in chemistry. You might also consider a master’s degree in chemical engineering as job opportunities in that field are much more plentiful than they are for holders of masters’ degrees in chemistry.

Some grad schools have effective placement offices and some do not. The student’s grad school academic record is much more important than the efforts of the placement office personnel in any event.
