Q&A: Has anyone that has been enrolled in an online MBA program with University of Phoenix gotten an internship?

Question by me: Has anyone that has been enrolled in an online MBA program with University of Phoenix gotten an internship?
**Please only answer if you have experience with this**

I have a BA from a regular university, and I am thinking of going for an MBA with UoP online. I know that just by getting the MBA I am not guaranteed a job (especially with all of the stigma that surrounds online schools). To better my chances of getting a job, I would like to get an internship. So my question is: is it possible to get an internship if I were to be enrolled in an MBA program with UoP? Do companies take it seriously? Has anyone gotten an internship while enrolled in an MBA or any other program with UoP?
**Again, PLEASE only answer if you HAVE experience with this. I already know about the cons of doing schools such as UoP; I’ve done the research. I’m looking for answers from people that have done an online program with UoP and have or have not been able to get an internship. Thanks!**

Employers do not take any degree from UoP seriously. You can google this and see for yourself.

The rep of where you get your MBA matters. While this doesn’t mean you must go to Harvard to be successful, you really don’t want to go to a school with an actively bad reputation. You could literally educate yourself out of employability.

In general, avoid any MBA program from a for-profit/proprietary school like U of P, Kaplan, etc. Certain employers won’t hire any MBA unless your program was AACSB accredited, so try to find an AACSB program, or at minimum, again, avoid the proprietary schools.

If the thing is that you must do this online, then know that there are a ton of reputable, traditional universities that offer online MBAs, including UMass Amherst, Drexel, Arizona State, Boston U, Florida State, U Indiana, Northeastern, Pace, Syracuse, Thunderbird, Virginia Tech, U Nebraska, James Madison, U Florida – tons of options. Seriously, there’s no need for you to jeopardize your career by going to a school like U Phoenix.

And be sure you need to do this online. Many MBA programs offer part-time options, where you only need to go to class one night per week. Some offer weekend options. Check your options, and only go online if you find you must.
