How would this exactly work assuming that one is involved in a full time MBA program? Do employers actually give the student approximately 2 years of time off in order to let them get their MBA?

The answer varies among employers. Often the arrangements are for part-time MBA programs or for “executive” MBA programs which are specifically designed for working executives.
