Question by Mary J: Major in Business Administration or Marketing?
I am going into senior year of high school and I want a better understanding between the two majors. Can you describe what type of person goes into these fields..THANKS a million!

I majored in philosophy, but ended up in marketing, so I’ll try to answer your question.
Business Administration, I believe, has to do with running a business. If you run a business, or own a business, marketing is but one of the many jobs you have to perfect to make your business successful.
Marketing has to do with one aspect of running a business. But it is a critically important aspect. You have to sell your business through marketing, and without successful marketing tactics, you probably will not succeed.

international business major vs Business Administration and Business
Business administration covers all the facets of business. It teaches you the principles of finance, (accounting) marketing, Human resource and production. When you major in marketing you specialize in that one facet of the business business enterprise. While you also take the other business components when you major in marketing it will not be as lucid as when you take a major in business administration. If I were you I will major in Business Administration where you will be exposed to the different facets of business and later decide if you want to specialize in marketing. After your business administration degree it will only take a few class hours to specialize in marketing. Good luck
