Is it possible to transfer from community college to regular university after one semester?
Question by ILoveSky: Is it possible to transfer from community college to regular university after one semester?
Is it possible to go to a community college and then transfer to a regular university. I am transferring out of West Point and am hoping to go to Georgia Tech in the spring to start my junior year. Does anyone know if it is possible/reasonable/smart for me to go to a community college in the fall and then transfer into Georgia Tech for the spring? I dont need the extra credits or anything…I just dont want to sit around and do nothing when I could be furthering my education.

Yeah, that’s definitely possible.
Don’t do poorly in the community college though, or it’ll be worse for you than if you didn’t go at all.

There are two issues.
Make sure that you will not have more credits than Georgia Tech will accept.
Make sure that community college enrollment will not void your acceptance by Georgia Tech.
The Georgia Tech admissions office can answer these questions.
Yes.
You need to talk to Georgia Tech. If none of the credits you take at the CC transfer, you would be wasting money. Make sure you don’t have too many credits. some schools will not allow you to transfer in as a second semester junior.
