I would really like a career in business administration, except that I would like a job that is very flexible?

Question by Sarah: I would really like a career in business administration, except that I would like a job that is very flexible?
or that I could work totally at home. I would like to be with my children when they are at home during the summer and after school. I thought about majoring in accounting, but realized that I would have to earn a masters degree, and accounting isn’t really my passion. I really enjoyed job shadowing a healthcare administrator. If I become one of those, I will have to earn a masters in healthcare administration, or an mba.
So, does anyone have recommendations of jobs that I could work at home, feelance, or another job that is flexible enough that I could be at home when my kids are there, if I earn a degree in business administration, or something similar? Thank you very much.

You’d need an MBA. You’d also work long hours, and work very hard to remain competitive – there’s a glut of MBAs these days. It is not anything you can do telecommuting, either. If you go this route, your husband would have to support you and those kids while you take time off from your job, and then you would have to try to find another job (or another line of work entirely) once the kids started school. Once you have been out of the workforce (for any reason whatsoever), it is extremely difficult to get back in. Rethink your plans. What do you really want?
