I have an MBA, live in California. Would like to teach at University level part time.?

I see all types of information everywhere, but I am unsure about what is valid. What classes, if any would I need to start teaching online or at a university? I see online instructor cert courses popping up. Will they help me land a job someday? Is a PhD necessary to teach in colleges, at a junior or senior level? Thanks to anyone who can point to some solid good information

Colleges and Universities can make up their own requirements in terms of what education you need to teach their classes. My husband actually teaches in an MA program with only an MA himself, but it is incredibly rare. You can look around, but it will be hard to find a position with just an MA.

It really depends on the college- university- who is doing the hiring- for what subject- your experience- how they like you-etc. A lot of different factors way in here. I just suggest you apply for what looks good to you and go from there. They will tell you over time what you need.
My Sister worked at the Community College teaching some major courses when she had her BS and working towards her Masters, but they told her at the University near were we live they wanted someone with a PHD so it really depends on what area.
