How easy is entering a top MBA program?

I want to get into one of the top 20 US MBA programs. I have a GPA of 3. 4 out of 4 and a GMAT of 680 points I had a sabbatical year from college and I studied in a top college down in Mexico. I’ll appreciate your advise and comments.

This combination of GPA and GMAT will keep you out of the top MBA schools.

Since MBAs from other than top tier schools do not pay off — especially when attended full-time — you should not seek an MBA unless you do so part-time, in at least a top 100 school, with an employer paying tuition.

If your undergrad degree is in a technical field, you’re better off seeking a Master’s in Technology Management.

Incidentally, let’s see how many hours pass before spam appears recommending the bogus address-harvesting site “officialmbaguide”. . .

Sadly a sub 700 GMAT and low GPA will fail to make it through the first round of the admissions process.

A high GMAT score and good work experience can offset a mediocre GPA, but you mention nothing about work experience. You may not be able to get admission to a “top 20″ school, whatever that means, but with your GMAT score you can certainly get admission to some excellent high-quality MBA programs. Search the Internet for “Top 40 MBA Programs” to see how the best schools rank on GMAT scores, GPA, starting salaries of graduates, and other important criteria
