It is not a good school. In fact is does not even have its ncahlc accreditation yet. It is a registered for-profit institution and their degrees are not even worth he paper they are printed on. If you want to develop games, your best bet is to get a degree in Computer Science from an accredited nearby state university.

That first poster is 100% right. Westwood isn’t regionally accredited, which means that some employers won’t recoginize its degrees as genuine. It also doesn’t have a good rep in this industry.
Look at the job listings for some game design companies. You’ll see that a lot of them prefer, or demand, that you major in computer science, not game design. You can focus on game design within CS, but they want you to have majored in CS. That is, unless you want to be an artist, not a technician. In that case, you need to major in art, with a focus on computer graphics, digital media, and/or game design.
In any case, make sure you do an internship in game design while you study, so you’re employable. And try to go to an okay school. As the first poster said, your home state’s state college system is likely just fine. It’s certainly better than Westwood.
