Getting MBA while majoring in Economics as an undergrad?

Question by wiings: Getting MBA while majoring in Economics as an undergrad?
Can I still try for MBA if I major in Economics? Basically I can choose to stay at UCR and major in Business Admin., or else go to UCSD and major in Econ. In the future I hope to get an MBA in human resources management, or information systems management and I wanted to know which one would allow me to get there more successfully
Do Business Schools care about which college your undergraduate degree came from

Yeah, just about anyone can get their MBA–I’m a poli.sci. major and i’m going to get my MBA. My minor is business admin, so that helps. But MBAs are good for anyone who is remotely connected to the business world, so many people of different majors choose to get theirs.

In fact, econ would be one of the normal undergrad majors for application to grad school for an MBA. Good luck! :)

Yes. Getting into a good MBA program depends very little on your actual undergraduate major. Solid work experience is much more important. Choose whichever degree you feel you will enjoy and will provide better career options. Most top schools want you to have at least 2-3 years of experinece before they’ll consider you. I had five.

P.S. Just finished my MBA from a Top 10 program.
