Distance Learning Education Degree Fits Into Schedule

Many people, for many reasons, may not have had the opportunity to achieve a college education and, whether for employment advancement or just for personal satisfaction, are seeking to attain a degree. While time may not be available to attend a tradition college, a distance learning education degree may fit into their lifestyle.
Maybe a person had to work to help their family right out of high school or lacked appropriate resources and found employment that did not require a college degree. Faced with a possible obstacle of not being able to advance in their current career due to a lack of a degree, they can turn to a distance learning degree to achieve that goal.
Verify School’s Credibility Before Paying
Accreditation is the key to choosing an online host from which to earn a distance learning education degree. There are many unscrupulous facilities, widely known as diploma mills, which are willing to sell you a degree that has to credibility among most major employers. They may claim being accredited, but deeper digging may reveal their accreditation certificates are just as worthless.
There are six regional accrediting agencies that grant accreditation to schools and universities, both public and private, and without their approval, the paper earned may not be worth anything, except the money paid for it. A distance learning degree may look good on a wall, but without proper accreditation, it’s nothing more than a decoration.
New England Association of Schools and Colleges, North Central Association of Schools and Colleges and Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges cover the states in about half of the country as well as some foreign schools and their accreditation also covers distance learning education degree programs.
The rest of the country is covered by Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. Checking with these agencies will give you information on distance learning education degree programs at schools under their oversight.
While there may be some quality educational facilities who have yet to earn accreditation by one of these associations, there are many others whose tactic is to prey on those seeking to achieve higher education at a reduced cost and a speed at which reasonable expectations realize it is not possible to achieve. Be wary of those offering programs that grant distance learning education degrees in what amounts to achieving overnight success.
