Difference between Business Economics or Economics Degree, Please help?

My university offers both. My ultimate goal is to get my MBA maybe few years down the line. I did my first two years at a community college, and my plan was to get B.S in Economics, but I found out that more of my classes would transfer if I chose Business Economics instead. I read some posts that said Business Economics isn’t as respected as an Economics Degree, is that True?? I would like to get a job at the banking industry once I graduate, which one would help more? Would both of them give me the same opportunity to pursue MBA later in couple of year.

I think the stereotype is that if you’re too dumb to do economics you do business or accounting. I think this has some truth to it since econ tends to involve more math.

So I would stick with economics and maybe take a couple of extra business couses that you think are the most useful (for example a banking course not offered in the econ department).

Anyway, good luck finding a banking job in today’s economy!
