I’m 33 years old from Colombia. I spend a lot of years dedicated to business, and also International social working.

I’m concedering on going to Business School, as an Old non-traditional college student.

I like Southern California, and East-Coast Australia, because It’s important for me to study near beaches with good waves for surfing. I have been surfing since I was a Kid.

Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by neniaf
In Southern California, the best business school is the Anderson School at UCLA. This is assuming that you already have a bachelor’s degree and are planning on getting an MBA. If you do not, then USC is probably the best of the undergraduate programs in the area. I’ll let the Australians speak for themselves!

Best answer:

Answer by engineco913
I always keep an eye in Supermarkets on the Community Boards. (these boards are great sources of bargains both public and private) Also a well placed call to the school’s and town hall’s will never hurt, even if it is twice a year. Your right a lot of School Committees will have “bargain basement” pricing because it is much easier to make than pay someone to remove it to a landfill. I hope this helps. Good Luck

IIPM BUSINESS SCHOOL FRESHER?S PARTY ? ALCHEMY CLUB

The much awaited IIPM Freshers’ Party (affectionately nicknamed Moonwalk) was held on September 9 for the UG’s and September 11, for the PG’s. Everyone had a gala time in the evening and it was all about colours and lights. Themed “Black and White” for the UG’s and “Complete Bollywood Ssstlyeee” for the PG’s, the two events were superbly organized, with the colours changing so fast that even a chameleon would be ashamed. The grandeur of Tabularasa served as the icing on cake to make the party “ROCK”

Moving from the stylish lounge to sunset tunes, to the hot-stepping disco and electronica, we welcomed the night! The party animals at IIPM danced to the scintillating tunes to the penultimate breath.

The foot tapping music, the flash-freezing lights, along with the excitement and high spirits of the youth made the party unbridled and exuberant.

The Freshers’ party for both the batches turned out to be a great success, the loud music replaced alcohol at the party and gave everyone a ‘high’ time to chill out.

The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and partied hard, as the DJ churned out songs and beats that pepped up the revelry. After dancing to their hearts’ content and stuffing themselves with food, some hit the hay, or rather hit the grass, although exhaustion did not have any role to play in that. However, every good thing has to end sooner or later, and the party had to be wound up and so it was called off giving everyone time to regain their breathe for the days ahead.

Question by willnyu1982: I have a prescription for medical marijuana, and plan on applying to business school next year. Any problems?
I have the prescription, but have not gotten the card yet. I plan on applying to business school next year in a different state (in CA now) and want to know if there’s any way they’ll see the prescription or if it will cause any problems. Also, when looking for a job (most likely in another country), will that be a problem?

Best answer:

Answer by arrianna_vt
You must provide proof of having a medicinal prescription for it.

Question by ev: Should I graduate this year with a degree in HTM or go transfer to another school and get a business degree?
So basically the story is that I was attending Umass where I was on the soccer team, and going into my senior year while getting a degree in Hospitality Tourism Management (HTM). I basically originally wanted to major in Management or Finance, but since the business school there wouldn’t let me in even with a 3.5 GPA and the fact that I already was a junior I settled on majoring in HTM and right now I’m 9 classes away from graduating on time this year. Anyway, soccer sort of fell through with the coaches this year, and I have the opportunity to transfer into Rutgers at the last minute and I’ve already got accepted into the business school and can major in either Management or Finance and get a degree in business. The thing is I would have to go to school an extra year. So my situation basically is do I go back to Umass where all my friends are, it’s a fun school, and graduate on time with an HTM degree or do I go to Rutgers and get a business degree, but live at home and go to school for an extra year. The thing is I sort of know the smart thing to do is to go to Rutgers and get a better degree that will probably open up more opportunities for me, but at the same time I really want to go back to Umass and be around my friends and finish up after this year. The thing is I know HTM has a reputation for being kind of a joke degree, and I now I have an opportunity where only one more extra year of school may pay off in the long run. Any advice from anyone?

Best answer:

Answer by Cochise
Go to Rutgers and get the real degree. Either finance or management is highly credible.

Also, take a speech class so you don’t come across as badly as you do in this question. Do you realize how many times you used the word “basically” in your question? In your life as an employee and as a manager, you will have to present yourself many times and annoying speech mannerisms can destroy your cred.

My undergrad GPA was a 3.1, but my Master’s (MSA – Tax) GPA will be anywhere from a 3.48 – 3.67. I’m locked into a job with a Big 4 accounting firm for the next three years. Assuming I get at least a 700 on my GMAT (I want to retake the exam to get into business school), what do you think my chances would be of getting into, say, Stanford, NYU, U of Chicago, or Wharton in three to four years?

Best answer:

Answer by Melissa❤
you should boost up your g.p.a higher so you can get into a greater and better college. they may even pay for you. try taking extra classes and join some communities or programs your school provides you to.

they have a top 50 MBA so their undergrad program can’t be far behind. That and they just built an amazing building for their business school.

For peer schools in the area, think about UVA, UMCP, and Georgetown

I want to get into the best business undergrad school in Texas to become an investment banker. What school it that?
What should I major in undergrad to become an investment banker?
What should i major in for grad school to become an investment banker?

I am currently a high school freshman who really wants to become an investment banker, are there any courses i should take in high school to pursue my dream (i.e. statistics, calculus, etc.)?

Thanks in advance!!

Best answer:

Answer by Chris P
I graduated from Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business, and I believe they have a great business program.
While I didn’t graduate with a Finance degree(or anything like it) I don’t know firsthand the quality of the program, but I have friends who graduated with accounting and finance degrees who say the program was great.

As far as the exact major for becoming an investment banker, I would contact the business college and ask one of the advisors what program would best suit that career. It also wouldn’t hurt to get your foot in the door and start talking to the colleges if that’s something you are really interested in. They would have more information anyone on here could give you. They could also give you information on what classes to take in high school, and since your a freshman you have plenty of time to take them.

Not to be biased on Texas Tech, I hear that UT has a good Business college as well, though I don’t know for sure about their finance related degrees.

Once again, talk to the colleges, find friends of your parents who perhaps went there and ask them what they thought. Good luck, you’re ahead of many others your age who don’t even know if they want to go to college at all.

Tech’s Business College website is: <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.rawlsbusiness.ba.ttu.edu/

Answer by Brian S
You could use the GI Bill to pay for your education, plus use tuition assistance while you are in to pay for classes.

Alright right now my GPA really sucks, havent taken the SAT yet but im working on it. What other tests should I take, like SAT IIs or some other exams I don’t know? what would Stern look for other than academics? I heard some people already started business on their own, some even 13yrs are still trying to get in. Isnt that like impossible for us high school student to get in??
