Last year I was enrolled in the University of Phoenix’s Online MBA Program. I completed 4 classes and then decided to stop my education with them (I wasn’t happy with the University of Phoenix and things just weren’t working out with them). So now I am looking at enrolling in other online institutions to obtain my MBA (I’m considering Kaplan, Westwood, Devry, and a few others). But I would like to know if the credits I earned at Phoenix will transfer to any of these other schools, or if I am going to have to start all over from scratch wherever I go. Will other online colleges accept my credits so I can pick up where I left off, or are these credits gone for good? If anybody has any experience/insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Are credits from the University of Phoenix transferable to other online colleges?

Graduate credit is rarely transferable no matter where you earn it. That yours is from UoP simply makes the issue more difficult but UoP is regionally accredited. Whether it is acceptable for transfer rests entirely with the receiving college though. I wouldn’t count on being able to use very much if any.
If a program will allow graduate transfer credit – the limit is usually 2-3 courses and they must be exactly comparable to courses you’re transferring into. Some very general master’s (such as a Master of Liberal Arts) will accept as many as 12 hours in transfer.
I don’t know what about UoP you didn’t like but I suspect if you weren’t happy with their model you’re not going to like the other for-profits either.
Have you considered Jacksonville State University? They’re regionally accredited, AACSB accredited, have an MBA with no specialty (so is shorter), and are WAY cheaper than any of the for-profits. They aren’t a top school – but neither are the schools you’re looking at. http://www. jsu. edu/distance/degrees/cba_mast_bus_admin. html
