Question by : Are BBA’s and MBA’s good lucrative degrees?
Is a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration degree good degrees to have?
Best answer:
Answer by Dannygirl
They are good degrees if you want to go into the field of Business. But it seems to me that it doesn’t mater what degree you have. It’s the knowledge and experience that makes it lucrative.
Yes, you need the degree to qualify for a job, but it’s hard work, talent and luck that make the big bucks.

A BBA with a concentration in accounting is a good degree to prepare to take the CPA exam, but no state requires a BBA to take the CPA exam, only the prescribed accounting and business related classes for that state. A guy with a BBA usually will not be hired into executive track positions that MBA’s are hired for and most top tier MBA programs prefer applicants who do not have undergraduate business degrees. An undergraduate degree in economics is usually seen as the preferred degree for an MBA program and it complements an MBA rather than having the MBA simply repeat most of the courses for the BBA, however anyone with any major can apply as long as they have completed the prerequisite courses for the MBA program. A student with an MBA from a top tier program will usually receive very lucrative executive track job offers on graduation. I suggest a bachelors in economics supplemented with financial accounting classes and a federal income tax course(s) that covers personal and corporate taxation. If the professional designation of CPA is desired, take enough required accounting classes to sit the CPA exam in the state a student plans to reside. Work a few years and then go for an MBA.
Good Luck!
Yes they are for many people. they are not for many others.
