Am i jealous or do i just have a competitive spirit?
When one of my friends or someone i know accomplish something that i think is admirable, i always try to perform better than them (and i always pull it off)
For instance, i have a friend who just got a decent job at Publicis. I went online and checked the salary for that job. When i found out that my future salary (i am on my way to get an MBA from an ivy league) is going to be way greater than hers. I was releaved.
See, my parents are very successful people in my country and they have always taught us to be the best of all. I could care less what other people accomplish. I would never try to KEEP THEM from accomplish their goald BUT! i will always make sure that whatever they do does not surpass my accomplishments by working A LOT HARDER.
Am i jealous or do i just have a competitive spirit?

I think it is a little bit of both jealousy and competitiveness.
You sound a bit of both.
I think that you’re mostly competitive. I do the same thing, although I usually try not to. Just don’t rub it in the person’s face if you accomplish more than them. A bit of competitiveness can sometimes help you to accomplish bigger and better things, so I think you’re fine.
Competitive Spirit is an understatement. You have what lots of people call a “Queen Bee Complex” because you feel like you need to always win. Your parents were probably able to give you everything as a kid, and you’re going to the IVY LEAGUE. chill out. You’re already VERY successful. This probably came from being raised by parents who might have thought they were better than people (That’s TOTALLY understandable since your parents were very successful). But don’t let your Quest for the Best ruin friendships. it can, and VERY quickly.
Theres nothing wrong with having that as long as you don’t rub it in peoples faces. Just hold onto your drive and keep going toward your goals. Don’t let others’ accomplishments make you feel like you’re not doing good enough.
