AFCO Systems Strengthens Senior Management Team; Signals Increasing Importance of Datacenter Market

The company has named Gerard “Jerry” Becker President and Chief Operating Officer, Joseph Reid Vice President of Customer Services and Support, and Katherine Merrigan Marketing Manager.

Jerry Becker
In this new role, Gerard “Jerry” F. Becker, PhD will develop an aggressive growth plan for AFCO predicated on leveraging lean manufacturing initiatives across the organization, instilling and institutionalizing repeatable organizational processes and strengthening customer satisfaction through repeatable, high-quality solutions.
Becker has more than 30 years experience in the information technology industry and holds a doctoral degree in Organization and Management from Capella University based in Minneapolis, MN. Before joining AFCO, Becker managed large datacenter environments for financial institutions, including Bankers Trust Company and Lehman Brothers, and held management positions with several software and professional services companies, including Greenwich Technology Partners, Aperture, and TIBCO.

My main objective will be to leverage these core capabilities for maximum growth and success while maintaining a strong customer focus with a dedicated team of professionals,” Becker said.

Joe Reid
As VP of Customer Service and Support, Joseph P. Reid will place a strong emphasis on formulating business strategies, managing customer relations and streamlining operations to provide significant value for AFCO’s growth.
Reid has over 20 years of IT experience in a variety of industries. He held senior management positions with a strong focus on growing and managing consulting businesses, as well as technical presales and support, for companies including TIBCO Software, SeeBeyond Technology Corporation, New York Presbyterian Hospital and Standard Microsystems. Reid earned a Masters in Business Administration from Adelphi University and a BSEE from New York Institute of Technology.
Kathy Merrigan
As the company’s new Marketing manager, Katherine A. Merrigan brings her strong background in product branding and developing cohesive, effective marketing campaigns using various media, including Web, video and print. Kathy’s addition to the AFCO team helps strengthen the Company’s commitment to providing thought leadership to the industry. Kathy has over 15 years experience marketing products for industries ranging from pharmaceutical to environmental to the military. Kathy holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, specializing in advertising and promotion, from Pace University, Westchester, NY.
