Question by alika: 59, 7 yrs here fluent French,English Spanish and Arabic, with MBA Why Cannot find a decent job in Quebec?
I have been coming to Canada since 1978 and it was always like that experience outside Canada does not count and the professional orders in Quebec segregate against immigrants.
So unless you study again no chanceof landing a good job .I have been living permanently since 2001 and the problem is the same ……

That doesn’t make much sense to me either. You should be able to find a job.

I hate to say it but it’s probably your age.
You’re almost 60 and you could retire in just 5 years. I would agree with the age factor. Unfortunate but most likely true.
There is a lot of ageism discrimination in Canada.
There are lots of factors involved when you apply for a job. You might even be seen as a threat or too clever. There again I am sure you are a great person but you might not be, you might give off bad vibes or something. The age might not help. Also, have you by any chance been out of work for a long time? That’s a put off.
Your age, simply. You’re nearing retirement age and therefore are not a good long-term candidate for immigrating.
At 59, unless you’re coming here to teach at the university level, you won’t be accepted.
